In accordance with the stringent requirements outlined in the Offshore Installations and Pipeline Works (First Aid) Regulations 1989, offshore installations necessitate trained personnel proficient in administering critical first aid and emergency treatments. Our meticulously crafted curriculum not only ensures compliance with these regulations but also instils the confidence and expertise needed to tackle any medical scenario encountered offshore.

Our program delves into a diverse array of topics, ranging from legal mandates to the latest advancements in clinical practices, providing a holistic learning experience, what distinguishes our program is we are the only provider of OSM in the North West and being situated in Manchester have access to clinical placements to ensure you get the very best exposure to your skills.

You will delve into theoretical and practical education in weeks 1 and 2 whether this is a refresh or starting out in the world of off shore medicine. The learning is sure to be immersive and interactive, incorporating simulated skill exercises and collaborative group endeavours. Finally, you will complete a hands-on 60-hour placement within local NHS services, facilitating real-world application of acquired skills.

Who is this course for?

  1. Internationally recognised Paramedic registration.
  2. NMC registered nurses
  3. Military/Ex-military medical technicians with the following criteria:
  4. Army – CMT/RMA class One.
  5. Royal Navy – LMA
  6. RAF – MA class one
  7. Suitably qualified others at the discretion of the OSMC Course Lead.

 

All students will also be required to hold or obtain a DBS – Totem Medical Academy are able too assist with this and further charges will apply, please contact the team to discuss this further.
